CHURCHES CONNECTING

To make Great Communion Sunday a reality, congregations in every community will have to take the lead. It is our sincere hope that congregations from all three streams of the movement will gather together on that special day. This is not an anniversary to celebrate in isolation. 1832: Year of Connecting

In the years leading up to 1832, both Thomas and Alexander Campbell had traveled extensively to connect congregations to their Disciples movement. 1832 became “the year of the great handshake” when the Campbells’ Disciples movement and Barton W. Stone’s Christian movement joined their efforts to call for the unity of all Christians. READ MORE
